Zelma Jean Dillard was born on June 9, 1961, in Prattville, Alabama to Ella Dillard, and James Yates. Zelma departed this life on June 30, 2022, at the age of 61.
Zelma attended Cleveland Public schools and was very religious, she was introduced into the church at a young age. Zelma had many jobs, she loved working at Higbee's department store, and Wyndham Hotel the most. Zelma loved her lottery, bingo, casino, and she also enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, she always cooked Sunday dinner.
Zelma was preceded in death by her parents, Ella Dillard, and James Yates; son, Phillip Anthony Reeves Jr; brother, Walter Yates; and niece, Shanika Yates.
Zelma leaves to cherish her memory her "Boo", Earl Stevens; children, Lauron, Billy, Shawana (Mishaye), Ebony; sisters, Shena Davenport (Reginald), Freddie Mae Dillard (Lisa), Sheila Yates, Lawanda Wade-Andrews (Gary), Debra Cannon (Ronnie), June Robinson, and Sandra Jordan-Roberts; Godmother, Dora Dumas; three brothers, James Summers (Brenda), John Yates, and John Dillard; 16 grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives she loved dearly.
