Willie James Phillips was born August 28, 1946 in Hurtsboro, Alabama to the union of the late Richard, and Charlotte Phillips, and had seven siblings. Willie passed away on November 29, at the Cleveland Clinic.
Willie attended Russell County Training High School in Hurtsburo, Alabama. He was a member at the New Fellowship Baptist Church until his health failed him.
Willie was employed with Cuyahoga Stamping Co. later at Northern Stamping Co. for twenty years he was a Punch Press Operator and retired in August 2008.
Willie was united in Holy Matrimony to Annie Holifield on November 2, 1970, their union lasted 51 years and one son was born.
Willie was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Phillips Fears; and one son, Dexter Holifield.
Willie leaves to cherish his memory his wife Annie; son, Garrett; three granddaughters, Janeisha Holifield; De'Aundra Holifield Teylor (Hakeem) Martin; five great grandchildren, Bre'Laya, Brayden, Jamil, Samaria, and Ryder Dex; one daughter-in-law, Adele Holifield; six brothers, Richard, Joby (Denise), Jesse (Wanda), and Christopher (Yolanda) all of Phenix City, Alabama, Walter of Maple Heights, Ohio, and Crawford of Twinsburg, Ohio; one sister, Lucille Tarver of Columbus, Georgia; two sisters-in-law, Mary Corbitt and Jane Smith; two brothers-in-law, Rev James Q. Corbitt, and Joesph Fears; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
