Willie Booker

Mrs. Willie Mae Wright Booker, daughter of the late Herbert Wright and Effie Glover Wright, was born on September 16, 1922, in Union County South Carolina.

She attended public schools in Union County South Carolina. She accepted Christ at an early age.

She was united in Holy Matrimony to Sherman Lewis Booker in Cleveland, Ohio.

She delighted in activities such as sewing, consuming sweets, listening to music, dancing, and sharing humorous stories that brought laughter to others.

She became a faithful member of St. Mark Baptist Church in Cleveland, Ohio, where she served as a member of the Mother's Board until her health began to fail.

She departed this life on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at St. Augustine Health Ministries in Cleveland, Ohio.

Sis. Booker was preceded in death by her husband: Sherman Lewis Booker, her brother John Davis Wright and her niece Naomi Wright West.

Sis. Booker is survived by a daughter Catherine Gulley, a grandson Terry Gulley. Two great nieces: Betty Newman and Minnie West Cooper, two great nephews John Earl West and Ricky (Ruby) West all of Spartanburg, SC. A special friend and caregiver Sis. Naomi Williams-Miles of Cleveland, Ohio and a host of relatives and friends.
