William E. Powell was born July 7th, 1936, in Charleston, West Virginia, to Boone Frame (deceased) and Nona Mae Powell (deceased). He was called to his final reward on Thursday, February 4th, 2021, in Richmond Hts, Ohio.
William attended Garnet High School, graduating class of 1953 at the age of 17. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the United States Air Force where he achieved the rank of Sergeant during the Vietnam War, as well as obtaining his degree in Chemical Engineering. On August 30, 1963, he married DeVerne E. Walls, they were married for 27 years until she preceded in death.
William later became an Air Force recruiter until his retirement from the military and continued with his chemical engineering career for the next 22 yrs until his full retirement. In 1990, he was united in holy matrimony to Joyce E. Robinson and this union brought this family together as one.
William, affectionately known as Boo was a long standing member of El Hasa #28, he was an avid Harley rider for many years, a huge Cleveland Browns fan, he loved to bowl and enjoyed listening to blues music. Most of all, he loved simply being around his family and friends.
William leaves to cherish his memory his Wife, Joyce E. Powell; Daughter, ChaVitta D. Powell; Two Sons, Reginald L. Payne, and Mark A. Powell; Stepdaughters, Charee Robinson, and April Mitchell-Odom; 9 Grandchildren, 12 Great Grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews, relatives and friends whose lives he touched
