William Randolph Jones was born May 28, 1924 to William W. and Mary E. Jones. He was their first child and oldest of 11 children was born in Manio, Virginia and raised in Saint Albans, West Virginia. At the age of 24 he moved to Cleveland, Ohio where he held positions as Chef and Maitre de at local restaurants. At age 27, William married Adiline Cox on May 5, 1951. She preceded him in death. William passed away July 24, 2011 after a long illness. William always found comfort in Christ and was a faithful member of East Mt. Zion Baptist Church for 40 plus years. William attended Case Western University where he studied Criminal Justice and later served on Cleveland Police Department and Case Western Police Department. He later served as Security Officer for a local security firm where he worked until the age of 80. William loved engaging in conversations with everyone and no one was ever a stranger He always took great pride in his appearance, he loved to dress in his suits no matter what the occasion. Whether it be a trip to the grocery store, family dinner or a holiday barbeque, you could be certain he was going to show up dressed to the "T" in a suit. William had so many hobbies, Captain of Abington Arms food bank, loved to play Wii bowling, Captain of the CERT (Cleveland Community Emergency Response Team) for Abington Arms Apartments, helped to organize trips to Amish country and other destinations including captain of the bus travel. He helped to organize holiday programs for seniors at Abington Arms Apartments and loves all sports. Preceding William in death were mother and father, William W. and Mary E. Jones and two of his siblings Margaret and James Jones. He leaves on this earth three brothers, Marshal Jones, Freddie (Nancy) Jones and Robert Jones; five sisters, Elizabeth (James) Robinson, Amanda Brown, Katie (Joseph) Hilliard, Edith (Oscar) Faulkner and Kathleen Wilkinson; and a multitude of loving nieces and nephews. HOME GOING SERVICES ON SATURDAY JULY 30, WAKE 12:30 PM, FUNERAL 1:00 PM at Watson's Funeral Home, 10913 Superior Avenue.
