Wiley Tubbs, Sr. was born to Joe D. Tubbs and Nancy Scott on August 26, 1928, in Marion, Alabama. He was one of 14 children. Wiley attended school in Marion, Alabama where he met and married the love of his life Salley Mae Osborn in July of 1948, this union lasted for 71 years. They later relocated to Cleveland, Ohio in 1951, where he began working at Sany Metal Products as a conveyor loader. He worked there until he retired in 1991. In his earlier years, Wiley joined the King Solomon Lodge where he became a Mason with his brother Joe, and his oldest son, Monroe. He loved being a mason and he loved to talk about the bible. Wiley was a good husband and provider for his family. He was a simple man; his favorite past time was to sit on the front porch with his wife and smoke cigarettes. Wileys health started failing after a fall, be he continued to make us all laugh and argue. He loved to argue and get us told!! The Lord called Wiley home on July 5, 2019. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Nancy Tubbs; 12 siblings; two sons, Sylvester James and Wiley Tubbs, Jr; and his grandson, Clifton Jackson. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Sally Tubbs; sons, Monroe Tubbs (Janice), Tommy Tubbs (Bernita) and Jerry Tubbs (Myrna); daughters, Patricia Jackson (Peter), Annie McKenzie (Leroy), Joyce Beckham (Anthony), and Michael Tubbs; one sister, Leona; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
