WALTERIO S. SMITH, 91; Passed away Wednesday, October 1, 2014; Beloved husband of Velmaree (nee Nicholson); loving father of three adult children, Orlando, Lorenzo and Melissa (Husband Harold); Beloved brother, survived by his sister, Elmina Callender (Husband James). He was preceeded in death by his parents Nehemiah and Leticia, and his brothers Albert, Arturo, James, and sisters Priscilla, Violet and Elmina Smith. He is also survived and loved by many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Walterio is a naturalized U.S. citizen, born in the Republic of Panama. He graduated from Cleveland Marshall Law School with his Juris Doctorate, passed the Bar Exam in 1960, and enjoyed a fulfilling, honorable career as an Attorney spanning over 50 years, including private practice, Acting Judge for the City of East Cleveland and Legal Analyst and Senior Attorney for Federal Government Agencies including the Veteran's Administration, where he retired from. Walterio loved music, dancing, an avid sports fan and loved to surprise us with his phenomenal cooking skills. Walterio is a brilliant, kind and gentle man very deeply loved, admired, and missed.
