Tony Allmond, Jr. was born on August 27, 1936. He was baptized under Rev. Charles Crable at Mount Haven Baptist Church. He attended John Hay High School, where he was in the band, mixed chorus, and All-City Chorus.
Tony was a quiet spirit and a man of few words. He was honest, trustworthy, dependable, hardworking, and always willing to help. He worked tirelessly in the family business, Tony’s Private Laundry Service, for all of his life up until his death.
He had a longtime best friend Larry who worked with him in the laundry, and they had a lot of good times. He was a history buff and often could be found poring over all kinds of magazines especially Popular Mechanics. He loved listening to his albums, which ranged from Mahalia Jackson to Sly and the Family Stone. He enjoyed frequent trips to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. He volunteered at the concession stand at the Indian stadium. He always had a curious mind and loved taking the scenic route to get to his destinations around Cleveland.
