Tommie Steward, Jr. was born on August 5, 1949 in Indianola, Mississippi to the parents of Tommie Sr. and Bernice Steward, who both preceded him in death. Tommie aka Tom or Junior was the fourth child of eleven children. Tommie accepted Christ at an early age. Tommie attended John Adams High School in Cleveland, Ohio. After graduating high school, Tommie started working for the Illuminating Company, 2 years later he started at Fisher Body and after their closure he started his employment at General Motors where he held many years of service at their Lordstown and Brookpark, Ohio locations as a line worker and a machine operator . Tom shared a 20 year relationship with Charlotte Rogers and the two had one child together Tamika. Tom loved to sing, hand dance and enjoyed sharing good laughter, food and conversing with those that he met. Tom leaves to celebrate his life, one daughter Tamika (son in-law Thomas), his two grandchildren Jasmine and Jalen, companion Terri Barnett, long time friend Gregory Keaton, three siblings that preceded him in death John, Betsy and Ethel, 6 siblings living in Ohio, Leon (Genie), Shirley (Joseph), Flora, Grover, Glenda (Carl) Henry and one brother in California William. Tom also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and many other family members and friends who loved him and will miss him dearly. We love him but God loves him more. To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. SERVICES BEGIN AT 10:00 AM ON SATURDAY, DEC. 14TH at WATSON'S FUNERAL HOME, 10913 Superior Ave. in charge. Interment in Riverside Cemetery.
