Timothy Cantrell

Timothy "Larry" Cantrell was born on December 13, 1952 in Cleveland, Ohio to Ethelene Cantrell and Thomas Fields. Timothy received Christ at an early age as he was baptized as a child. He graduated from John Hay High School in general studies. He then went on attend the Lawton School and acquire specialized certifications in security and law services. He eventually retired from the Board of Education, where he put in many years of dedicated service. In his retirement, he remained active with positions in security and providing direct support to individuals with special needs. He married Vivian Garrett, in 1976. In this union the couple welcomed two (2) children into their home, Timothy (TC) and Eric Cantrell. Timothy also had two (2) children with his lifelong companion Darlene Jackson, Dora and Darlene Jackson. His children will remember him as a fun loving, charismatic, and honest father who encouraged them to pursue their goals. In time Timothy found affection and companionship, and married Valerie Robinson in 2003. As time went on Timothy then found compassion and love once more, and married JoAnne Williams in 2015. Timothy enjoyed sports, music, and family. He was a witty dedicated individual who loved to have a good time and who was passionate about playing cards, especially bid whist. Throughout his life he made strong lasting friendships that will be cherished remembered for the fun times shared. He will be missed by many and the card table will never be the same without him. He will be deeply missed by his forever friend and card partner Doris Garrison. Timothy died peacefully in his sleep on January 12, 2018 in Richmond Heights, Ohio at the age of 65. He remained strong in his faith and in the Lord as he kept his Bible ready and near always. Timothy leaves to cherish his memory, his wife JoAnne Williams-Cantrell; children, Timothy (Audrey) Cantrell, Dora (David) Jackson-Hodges, Darlene Jackson, Eric Cantrell; siblings, Joyce Garner, Deborah (Thomas) Nelson, Otis Fields, Calvin (Artice) Jackson, and Janice Jackson; grandchildren, Quadell Jackson Jr., Jalen Gardner, Timothy Cantrell, and Isabella Hodges. As well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives. Timothy was a "Grandpa" to many. He was preceded in death by his mother Ethelene Cantrell, father Thomas Fields, brothers Thomas Cantrell, Donald Cantrell, Anthony Cantrell and sister Diane Cantrell. The family would like to thank the caregivers and staff of Grande Pointe Healthcare Center for their effort, care, and dedication to him. The family will also like to thank Hospice of the Western Reserve for their support and services.
