Theodore C. Ricks was born April 10, 1926, to Jackson and Luvina Ricks in Tuscumbia, Alabama. To this union ten children were born, four girls, and six boys. Nine of Theodore's siblings preceded him in death. Theodore was educated in the Alabama Public School System and graduated from Trenton High School, where he was class Valedictorian. Theodore loved to attend the Class Reunions where he would ride in the parade with the other class members. Theodore accepted Christ at an early age and loved the Lord, the church, and the word of God. He united with the Greater Friendship Baptist Church many years ago and he was a faithful servant of the Lord. Theodore loved the church and worked diligently as a Deacon, Superintendent of the Sunday School, Christian Education and the Mighty Men of Valor. Theodore was a wise man who believed that in order to talk the Bible, you must be qualified, so he went and received two degrees in Bible Study. Greater Friendship is where Theodore met Bobbie Oliver. The two became good friends and were united in marriage for 10 years. Theodore was a gentle, and humble soul who loved to talk about the Holy Bible and his love for gardening with grapevines, peach trees, strawberries, and blackberry. Theodore will be missed and he leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife, Bobbie Ricks; daughter, Phyllis Phillips; three stepdaughters, Wonder "half-pint", Debbie and Lillie; one granddaughter, Phylicia Davis; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, friends and extended family.
