Deacon Theodore "Ted" Acree Sr. was born in Fayetteville, GA on June 21, 1936, to the union of Geneva and Robert Acree Sr. (who both preceded him in death). He was the youngest of the (10) children born in the Acree household. Ted moved to Cleveland, Ohio in 1964. He met and started dating Barbara Outlaw in 1969. They married on November 30, 1974, to their union came (2) daughters and (3) sons. Ted loved watching sports (basketball, football and baseball), loved playing cards, loved gambling until he got saved, loved working on cars, loved to hit the dance floor with his wife on party nights, loved listening to music (Jazz, Blues, R&B, and Gospel) - "I reached a turning point lord, lord, lord in my life" by Tyrone Davis, Billie Jean by Michael Jackson, and favorite hymn was "Walk with me, Lord". He also loved spending time with family, especially his grand-daughter Miranda (who was his special nurse assistant helper) and with his brother-in-law, Jimmie Lee Outlaw (who preceded him in death). Ted was a truck driver for Triple-A Rubbish Company for (10) years until Fisher Food Company purchased Triple-A Rubbish Company. Then he worked for Fisher Food Company for (2) years until BFI Waste Services purchased Fisher Food Company. He worked for BFI Waste Services for (15) years before he retired. After retiring, Ted worked on HONEY to-do-list (NOW yal know how long that honey to do list was being married to Barbara Acree). He also temporarily helped at Whitehaven Cemetery for (4) months. In 1990, Ted was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease and Dementia. Even though he resided at Cedar Wood Nursing Home he continued to do activities with his family. Ted remained active as much as possible with family until the disease took control. Ted was called Home to Glory on Tuesday night March 19, 2019 - 2 Corinthians 5:6-8 says "Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord. (For we walk by faith, not by sight:) We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord". Theodore Acree, Sr leaves to cherish his memories his Wife of 45 years, Barbara; five daughters, Renita, Stephanie, Cynthia (of Atlanta, GA), Amanda and Pamela; five sons, Theodore Jr., Stevie, Johnathan, Malcolm (deceased), and Gary (deceased); six grandchildren, Ashley, Lacarlus, Lavette, Dubois (deceased) of Atlanta, GA, Terry and Miranda; five sisters, Annie (Willie, deceased), Eunice (Nathanial-both deceased), Sally (Willie both deceased), Jennie (deceased) and Maddie Mae (deceased); four brothers, C.P (deceased), C.D (deceased), Robert Jr. (deceased) and Jesse (deceased); one sister-in-law, Diane Jones (K.C - deceased); one brother-in-law, Richard Outlaw (Brenda); and host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends all whom he loved and appreciated very dearly.
