Teressa Jackson

December 26, 1966 — July 11, 2020

Teressa “Chee-Chee” Jackson who is affectionately known as Chee Chee was born on December 26, 1966, in Cleveland Ohio to the late Isom Jackson and Joann E. (Nolan) Jackson; she was preceded in death by her brother, Isom T Jackson.

At an early age Teressa accepted Jesus Christ in her life as her LORD and Savior and was baptized at the Spiritual Church of GOD in Christ by the late Bishop John Askew in Cleveland, Ohio.

Chee Chee graduated from East High School where she was known for her extraordinary artwork and drawings. Her art teacher would always enter her in the school's Art completions because of her drawing abilities. She had a passion for drawing and coordinating color palettes. Chee Chee was the mastermind behind creativity. Teressa worked at UH for 15 years then decided to retire from University Hospital Systems in 2002. She continued her passion for sewing and creating clothing.

Chee Chee had a love for sewing. She could put together a pattern in no time, she made handmade pillows, garments, tailoring clothes, and designing motorcycles vests. She made costumes and props for the church plays and events. Chee Chee made her niece an after prom outfit out of curtains. Chee Chee was very handy at fixing and creating things out of nothing. Between both of her brothers that are technically inclined and her sewing skills, she will quickly sew a pillow together and her brothers would have the pillow with lights on it. Her favorite color is purple.

Chee Chee was the best “fry baby” in the family, she made the best fried chicken and fish your mouth ever tasted, people who were allergic to fish needed to have a sample but she made sure she had Benadryl on hand for them. Chee Chee truly loved working alongside as a business partner with her mother who had a kitchen at the old Highland Woods GE building named (Jackson Cafe). There the two would prepare all sorts of meals, drinks, and desserts. Chee Chee wasn’t shy making exotics drinks for family/ friend gatherings, she was the best bartender especially around the holidays. She would make Jello shots that will make you forget your name; her favorite drink to make was “Amaretto Sour.”

Chee Chee loved spending limitless time with her family, she loved camping, going on the party bus, night clubs, movies, drinking a cold icy at the lake, bowling and going to the skating rink to watch everyone skate, Chee Chee became a member of the skating club “C-Land Freestylers.” She loved her family and they loved her, she didn’t want to miss out on anything. Chee Chee best trip was the family cruise in 2018 on the ship Harmony of the Seas sailing for a week where she explored Haiti, Jamaica, and Mexico. She enjoyed every inch of that ship and couldn’t wait to go to the “Robot Bar” to get a drink made by the robot. Chee Chee was fun to be around, she enjoyed the small things. Like her family, friends, beauty, and makeup. She enjoyed sci-fi movies and cooking shows. Modesto and Chee Chee enjoyed cooking cultural dishes together.

Chee Chee was a caring person; she would give what she could to help someone. She would drive you to the grocery store if you needed it, doctor’s appointments, babysitting, or just being the listening ear in your time of need. Chee Chee was there for you. She loved to shop with her dear friend Mary Dennis; they were out every Saturday going shopping at Walmart’s, Target, and her favorite store was Big Lots.
