Stephen Larry

Mr. Stephen Larry was born to Wilmore Larry Sr. and Erma Larry on July 22, 1955, in Cleveland Ohio. He was the youngest of six children: Sandy Wiggins, Wilbert Wiggins, Linda Larry, Wilmore Larry Jr., and James Larry.

Steve is a native Clevelander. He was a graduate of John Hay High School. At 16 yrs. old became president of the high school drama club, at 17 yrs. old was the assistant director of the theater programmed Case Western University upper bound program for high school seniors, under the direction of Gayle Holly. Trained in theater under the watchful eye of Annetta Jefferson, Steve spent many years after performing at the Karamu House Theater and working with writer/director receiving artist of the year and many other awards over the years, from the Karamu Actors Guild.

After attending the Ohio School of Broadcast, Steve had the honor of being on the opening entertainment crew of both, Disney, MGM Studios Florida as MC/Host for the Monster Sound Show, Superstar Television, The Star a Day Show, and Universal Studios Florida performing as Winston in The Ghostbusters Live Spooktacular, working on Amsterdam, Sherman Hemsley, Esther Rolle, Brent Jennings, Ruby Dee, Bill Cobbs, Mary Alice, Regina Taylor, Vondie Curtis-Ha.., Robert Jr. Lockwood, Peggy Blow, and Kenny Leon, while being directed by Kevin Hooks, Richard Lewis, Woody King, Andrea Frye, and Ton Jones. Steve preformed at the Alliance Theatre, Jomandi Productions, and the Art Station in Atlanta, Ga., before going on national tour with Mountain Top Productions out of Houston, Tx., in the historical production of Camp Logan, winner of the NAACP Image Award for best touring show of the year in Los Angeles, Steve was the guest artist performer in the first annual Madam CJ Walker Theatre's production of Black Nativity in Indianapolis, Indiana. Steve played the role of Big Man in the work premier of Double Nickel Blues, written by Margaret Ford- Taylor and commissioned by Cleveland State University, their first ever black history production at the school.

His camera credits include: The Adventures of Superboy, I'll Fly away, Portrait of America- Ohio, With All Thy Getting, Ohio Lottery, History of Cleveland (African Americans It's Time to Tell the Story). If These Walls Could Talk, and many more Commercials, in a long and vested career on stage and in film, Steve has embarked on ventures too numerous to list, but would like to thank God for the opportunity to share his gift with you.

Steve enjoyed bicycle riding with his buddies and their adventure. He was an avid coin collector. Big supporter of the Brown's Football team, but his favorite was the Cavaliers basketball team.

He has one daughter Ciara Larry, and four grandchildren, A'vyon Chapman, Zy'Aire Larry, Gerny Mcduffie, Giana Mcduffie, and one great - granddaughter True Blu.
His father, Wilmore Larry Sr and two brothers Sandy Wiggins and Wilbert Wiggins preceed him in death.

He leaves to mourn his passing: His Mother Erma Potts, sister Linda Larry Robinson, brothers Wilmore Larry Jr., (Daphne), and James Larry. Four other siblings by his father's second marriage: Brendolyn Larry, Deanna Larry, Kimberly Larry, Robert Larry and a host of nieces and nephews.
