Shirley Jean McAdams was born February 23, 1936, in Blytheville, Arkansas to George Robinson and Nettie B. She was adopted and raised by her loving parents Irvin and Dora Washington. Shirley accepted Christ at an early age of 8 knowing that 'Holiness is still right". She attended Harrison High School in Blytheville. She was always working in church learning as much as she could. She and her husband of 67 years, Johnie Lee McAdams, moved to Cleveland, Oh in 1952 and to their union were 9 children. Shirley worked very hard in maintenance with the Cleveland Board of Education where she retired after 32 years. She wore many hats in the church as an usher, choir member, hospitality, nurse, Sunday school teacher, prayer warrior, Church mother at New Jerusalem and on the Mother's Board at Jonas Temple for the past 6 years. Shirley was a strong praying woman of God who loved her family. She shared the love of Christ with anyone who would listen. She enjoyed her gardening, cooking Sunday dinner, baking, shopping and reading her Bible. She was proceeded in death by her parents, son Johnny McAdams, and daughter in love Rose Marie McAdams. She fought a hard battle and gained her wings on Saturday, March 30. Our loss is heaven's gain.
