Samuel "Sam" Tate Edwards was born on August 4, 1973, to parents, Jean and Samuel Edwards. Sam accepted the Lord at the age of 12. He was a very spiritual man, and he loved the Lord. Sam prayed everyday, over every meal, and prayed for everyone.

Sam was employed as a chef for over 20 year, cooking was his first passion, dancing was his second. Sam was always the life of the party, he was also a big prankster, he enjoyed playing jokes on people. Sam had a beautiful personality and a heart of gold. Sam loved his neighborhood and community. Sam was also known as "Sam Bam Cunningham", and Coach due to his love to coach the youth in basketball. OG Sam was one of Parkwood's original Jungle Brothers (neighborhood watch group). In his spare time, Sam truely enjoyed kicking it with his Jungle brothers.
