Ruth Mae Smith

Ruth Mae Smith was born December 23, 1925 in Grand Rapids, Michigan to Luella Hollingsworth-Heiring and Rufus Woods. She accepted Christ at an early age. Ruth was a member of the Community Temple Church in Christ for over 35 years under Elder Buford Terry. Ruth was a loving and devoted mother and wife to Sidney G. Smith. She had two children, Cherly (deceased) and Terry Woods. She was a homemaker and loved to shop and cook. She had one sister Mildred Hayes (deceased) and one brother, Raymond Hayes (deceased). Ruth leaves behind 7 grandchildren, Patricia, Donald, Jerry (deceased), Gillespie, April, Sherie-Lynn (deceased), Tiffany Woods and Mark Ivey; 10 great grandchildren; 10 great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. She will be greatly missed and still be in our hearts. HOMEGOING SERVICES Saturday, Nov. 28, 2015; Wake 10 AM, Funeral 10:30 AM at Watson's Funeral Home, 10913 Superior Ave. Public Viewing Friday, Nov 27, 9 AM to 7 PM at the funeral home. Interment in Riverside Cemetery.
