Ruth (Wilson) Sims

Ruth Wilson Sims was born in South Carolina on May 7th, 1947, to the late Simon Wilson and Eliza McClary Wilson. Ruth grew up in South Carolina with her family and then later relocated to Eustis Florida where she attended Eustis Bates School. The family later relocated to Rochester NY where she attended Madison High School. Ruth married the man of her dreams, Marvin Sims, Sr in 1961. They quickly relocated to Cleveland, Ohio where they had 3 wonderful children, Marvin Jr., Laura and Larry Sims. She had us at a very young age therefore, she was like a big sister to us.

For most of her life Ruth was a stay-at-home mother, which she loved. She was a very dedicated mother and wife. She later ventured into the working world where she found a since of independence.

Ruth was very outgoing, loved basketball, riding bikes and listening to music and playing board games. Ruth also loved to dance with her children, friends and family. Ruth was a loving and compassionate woman that made the best of any situation. She had a strong spiritual relationship with the higher power. Ruth loved watching old movies and TV shows.

Ruth was an avid plant and flower collector. She created space for them in the living room and put a few in the basement with proper lighting. Those plants were her pride and joy. She would boast about how fast they grew. Ruth loved and was a big Cleveland Cavaliers fan. She would watch every game on TV.

Ruth became somewhat of an entrepreneur after her late husband passed. She has maintained Mr. Cleans Car Wash on Superior Ave. and has maintained several rental properties throughout the communities. Ruth took an unexpected turn to rest on June 1, 2024, in Cleveland Ohio. She leaves to cherish her memories of her children Marvin Sims, Larry Sims and her late daughter, Laura Sims; her beautiful grandchildren and great grandchildren and many friends and loved ones.
