Ruth L. Lowery

Ruthie "Ruth" Lee Lowery was born December 19, 1948 to Charlie Payne and Elizabeth Green in Cleveland, OH the third oldest to eight children in her parents union.

Ruth grew up in the church and was taught to dedicate her life to Christ; she was baptized at an early age at Beaulah Baptist Church in Collinwood. Ruth was educated in the Cleveland Public Schools and graduated from Shaw High School in 1967.

In 1969 Ruth married J.C. Lowery and in their union had two children Jerome and Yolanda. Years later Ruth moved on with her life and had Brian and Taekwonda.

Ruth worked as a Secretary for the East Cleveland Police Department for sometime. In 1980 she started working at Cuyahoga County Court House as a Secretary for Domestic Relations which she worked there for 28 years following retirement.

Ruth was known for her love of fashion, keeping up with her hair and nails. She also enjoyed her biblical studies knowing her scriptures inside and out. Ruth also had a love for motorcycles which she would ride in her younger days.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents Charlie Payne and Elizabeth Green; stepfather Wilbert Green; sisters Patricia Payne, Mary Burton, Irene Watson; and brother Charles "Chuckie" Payne.

She leaves to cherish her memories with her children; Jerome Lowery, Yolanda(Akil) Walton, Brian(Mia) Roberts, and Taekwonda Coleman; grandchildren Akilah Walton, Briona Roberts, Brion Roberts, Yasmin Walton, Brian Roberts Jr, Braylin Roberts, Malachi Roberts, Taliyah Wiggins, and Tyus Thompson; great-granddaughter Breale Speed; sisters Hessie Stewart, Barbra(Paul) Ellis, Charlie Mae Kenney, Patricia Mellott, Phyllis Carlock, Joan Payne, and Charlotte Holder; brothers James Lee, Larry(Cheryl) Payne, and Ricky Darden; and devoted life long companion Ronnie Green.
