ROMOLA TRIGG-NELSON, 83; Passed on May 13, 2012; Cherished mother of Leonard "Little Mike" and Demetrius Nelson; Devoted relative and friend who will be greatly missed. SERVICES ON SATURDAY, MAY 19; WAKE 12:30 PM, FUNERAL 1:00 PM at Watson's Funeral Home, 10913 Superior Avenue. Interment in Cleveland Memorial Gardens. Romola Trigg Nelson was born on November 25, 1928 in Bluefield West Virginia, to the late Fennissee Trigg and Lillian Harriston Triggs. She lived in New York City and later moved to Cleveland, Ohio. She graduated from Jane Adams Senior High School. Romola was united in holy matrimony to Julius Nelson, Sr. (deceased) on August 7, 1949 at the age of 18. To this union, ten children were born. She worked at St. Vincent Charity Hospital and later went into business with her husband. Mr. and Mrs. Nelson were entrepreneurs until the time that Mr. Nelson preceded her in death. Romola was a very spiritual woman and attended St. Francis Catholic Church. She lived in the Ward 7 community for a number of years; and was very proud of the community in which she lived. She not only "talked the talk" but "walked the walk". She regularly attended Ward Club Meeting, which gave her a platform to voice her concerns and ideas with the late Councilwoman, Fannie Lewis. This made her proud to play an active role in improving the community in which she lived. She continued being active until her illness would no longer allow her to participate. Romola leaves to mourn one brother, Fenissee; eight children, Artelia, Michael, Rodell, Demetrius, Romola, Stephanie, Stephen and Leonard; daughters-in-law, Candy, Angie, Shellee, Machita, Pam and Bonnie; twenty-two grandchildren, Artelia, Christie, Michael Demetrius, Unique Angel, Francisca, Jeno, Romer, Rondell Jr., Christin, Eunice, Michael Jr., Money, Tamika, Veronica, Jazz, Angeimoma, Connie, Alexas, Avery, Shameria, Sophia, Boo and Leonard Jr. She was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters, Gladys, Doris, Stanley, Robert and Raymond. She was also preceded in death by her son Julius and daughter Paula. She will be missed yet remembered by a host of great grandchildren, relatives and friends.
