Robert Peters, 70, of Mentor, Ohio was born February 13, 1947 to Levi Peters and Lucinda Watts in Cleveland, Ohio, the youngest of seven children.
Robert was educated in the Springfield School district in Madison, Ga. and attended the Springfield Baptist Church.
Robert came to Cleveland in 1966 and began employment at Packaging Corp. of America. He retired after 36 years of service as a Pressman Operator.
Robert was a past Grandmaster of the Enoch Grand Lodge in 2008. Past activities included feeding the hungry and toy drives.
Robert married Kathy J. Cross June 18, 1983. To this union the couple welcomed eight children into their home, Romell L. Peters, Chanel J. Peters, Dunnell W. Peters, Cheria J. Peters-Oliver, Justin R. Peters, Robert B. Peters and Wilnita Hill.
Robert was saved while attending Greater Community Temple COGIC, where Bishop Beuford J. Terry is the pastor. Robert served as a Deacon and Usher. His favorite song to sing was "Walk with Me Lord" and his favorite scripture to read was Psalms 23.
Robert enjoyed singing and playing with his six grandchildren. His favorite Cleveland Team was the Indians. Robert would read his bible and drink his coffee every morning.
Thursday, February 1, 2018, at 4:30 a.m. inside The Cleveland Clinic Hospital, with his family by his bedside, Robert departed this life. He is preceded in death by his father, Levi Peters; mother, Lucinda Watts; three brothers, Fred L. Peters, Willie Ed. Peters and Jesse Peters.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 35 years, Kathy J. Cross Peters; his siblings left to cherish his lost arc are sisters, Florine Hines of Springboro, PA., Sarah Nelson of Cleveland, OH and one brother, El-Ameen Majied of Springboro, PA; eight children; six grandchildren; mother-in-law, Nellie Bryant as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.
