Richard "Rick" Stanley Cranfield was born on February 29, 1952, in Cleveland Ohio. He is the third child of seven to the late LB and Mattie Lou (Lillard) Cranfield. He attended and graduated from Thomas Edison High School in 1970. Richard met the love of his life, Diane Stiner, and they were united in Holy Matrimony November 22, 1997. From this union, Aziza Miracle Stiner Cranfield was born and he also gained a stepdaughter Teria Jo'Nelle Batson. Richard's two children, Raymond & Regina Gunn, completes his loving family. Richard accepted Christ at an early age. He began his walk with Christ at Parkwood AME where his father was Pastor. Richard had a servant's heart and loved serving God. As an adult, he joined Greater Faith Baptist church and served in the Outreach ministry, Laymen of the Lord, Men's Chorus and the food ministry. He later joined True Vine Missionary Baptist Church under the direction of Pastor Edward McGhee. At True Vine MBC, he continued in outreach ministry with New Season Transformation Ministry, Oasis Food ministry, Mass Choir, and the Male Chorus. As part of a collaboration with True Vine Oasis Food Ministry and the Cleveland Foodbank, he monthly delivered 170 hot meals to the elderly. He was a proud recipient of a Certificate of Recognition for ten plus years of service and a job well done. Richard was known to many as "Rick or Ricky". He was employed as a machine operator at MBI Inc. for 38 years until his retirement in 2016. Serving God and family were key values for him, as demonstrated by the life he lived. While he never required much for himself, he enjoyed watching movies, spending time with his family, and chauffeuring the kids and their friends. There was a family joke that if one of the kids called him to pick them up in Africa, his response would be "let me get my shoes on, I'm coming". Richard was a man of few words. However, he was hard-working, patient, loving, very giving, and content, as long as his wife and family were safe. God called Richard Stanley Cranfield home on Sunday, October 7, 2018, at 1:36 pm. He leaves to mourn and cherish his loving wife of 21 years Diane Cranfield, he lovingly embraced five children Aziza Miracle Stiner-Cranfield, Regina Gunn, Raymond Gunn, Teria Jo'Nelle Batson, and Domonique Stiner. Three brothers Charles (Paula) Cranfield, Steve Cranfield, and Larry Cranfield. Three sisters Luberta Cranfield Delores Cranfield, Janice (Garrett) May, five grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
