Rev. Dr. Richard Brown, Jr., age 82, quietly passed from the earthly life to eternal reward on Thursday, November 8, 2007. The beloved husband of Leola (nee Harper0 for over 60 years, and the cherished father of Linda (J. Alfredo) of Boston, Mass. And Carla of Cleveland, Ohio. He was born in McColl, South Carolina to the late Deacon Richard and Agganora Brown. The dear brother and loved one of Rev. James Willie (Fannie) both deceased, Frances (Joseph), Rev. Charles Curtis (Sophie), Rev. Robert (Martha), Rev. Carl (Jasmine), Rev. Warren (Esther), Mabel (Edward), and Rev. Melvin (Edna - deceased) and a host of other loving family members and friends. Rev. Dr. Brown was a retired teacher for over twenty-seven years for the Cleveland Municipal Schools, and the Pastor Emeritus of both the Calvary Church of God in Christ in Cleveland, Ohio and the Second Calvary Church of God in Christ in Elyria, Ohio, which he established. He was a prolific writer, author, lecturer, and always an advocate for continued educational development. Memorial Services celebrating the legacy of his educational and pastoral achievements will be held on Thursday, November 15th at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Services will be Friday, November 16th at 12:00 p.m.; the Wake will precede the funeral the funeral at 11:00 a.m.. All services will be at Calvary Church of God in Christ, 10808 Superior Ave. In lieu of flowers, the family would be honored to receive contributions to the Richard Brown Jr. Scholarship Fund, 10808 Superior Ave., Cleveland, OH44106.
