Ralph Edward Myers was born on March 14, 1949 to Marzette Myers Craig and Ruby Floyd Dudley in Gadsden Alabama. He was called home to rest on May 22, 2023.
Ralph accepted Christ at an early age and attended Shiloh Baptist Church. He was educated in the Gadsden School System and graduated from Gadsden High School in 1967. He enlisted in the U.S. Martine Corps after graduation and was Honorably Discharged in July, 1973. He received several medals and accommodations while serving his country. After leaving the military in 1973, he moved to Cleveland, Ohio and attended Cuyahoga Community College receiving an Associates of Arts Degree in 1990
Ralph was employed by Republic Steel, LTV Steel, Midland Steel, and Arcellor Mital before retiring in July 2013 after 46 years. He was an Electrical Engineer, APRI President, Vice President of Local 979 and a Union Steward. His company named a street after him and a training facility for the Electrical Engineers called Myers University. Ralph received several certificates of Apprenticeship during his employment, along with an Unsung Hero of the Labor Movement Award on November 14, 2013 from President Barak Obama.
Ralph professed his love to Rochelle and the two married on December 10, 2010. Ralph loved to play racquetball, he enjoyed watching sports and was a Browns Fanatic. He had a Heart of Gold and would help anyone in need.
Ralph was preceded in death by his mother, Marzetta Myers Craig, his father, Ruby Floyd Dudley, and his sister, Alfreda Wilson.
Ralph leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Rochelle; four children, Devonte Myers, James Morris, Shelley Sullivan and Keith Myers; eight grandchildren, Reason Myers, Santana Cross, Sontae Cross, Sierra Reed, Eric Bell, Sha'nyah Bell, Jade Hil and Ja'Keith Myers; great-grandson, Jordan Reed; niece, Deborah Dudley; his best friend, Tyrone Phillips; and a host of family, and friends.
