PHYLLIS J. McLENDON, 84; Passed Feb. 27, 2015. Phyllis J. Smith was born July 30, 1930 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Robert F. Smith II and Retha Leona Smith (neé Buggs). She was the fourth of seven children. Phyllis accepted Christ at a very young age and joined East Mt. Zion Baptist Church. She served faithfully throughout the years and sang in the Sanctuary Choir. Phyllis also sang in the Greater Cleveland Choral Chapter for many years. She was a faithful member of Group 18. Phyllis was educated in the Cleveland Public School System. She was employed at St. Luke's Hospital until her retirement after 41 years of service. Phyllis was joined in holy matrimony to Ralph D. Craig Sr., and to this union a son Ralph D. Craig Jr. was born. Phyllis later married Dallas McLendon who preceded her in death. She leaves to mourn and cherish her memory, her son, Ralph (Cynthia); two grandchildren, Tanya (Ira) and Corey (Melanie); one great granddaughter, Hannah; five brothers who all preceded her in death, Robert Smith III, Jerome, Donald, Norman and Charles; three sisters, Muriel (deceased), Elaine and Deirdre; she also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, many other relatives and friends. Services SATURDAY, MAR. 7; WAKE 10 AM, FUNERAL 10:30 AM at East Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 9990 Euclid Ave. Viewing Friday 9AM - 7 PM at Watson's Funeral Home, 10913 Superior Ave. Interment in Cleveland Memorial Gardens.
