Pearlia Bourns

Mrs. Pearlia Bourns (Born in Greenwood, Mississippi), of Cleveland, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at the age of 89. Pearlia was born to parents Lila Mae Brown and Chester Brown on April 4, 1929 in Greenwood Mississippi. Pearlia married Claude Bourns in 1946, and the couple had three children. Pearlia is survived by two daughters, Eva Bourns & Lila Mae Branham; son, Claude Junior Bourns all from Cleveland, Ohio; two brothers, David Brown Jr. of Chicago, Illinois & Chester Brown, Jr. of Louisiana; as well as a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her brother, John L. Brown & sister, Beatrice Brown. Pearlia moved to Cleveland, Ohio in 1952 and worked for over 20 years at Lutheran Hospital. Pearlia was a great family woman and a loving mother and grandmother always kind to everyone. For most of her life she enjoyed cooking on Holidays and taking care of her family. Her family and friends will remember her as a person who wanted you to feel at home when visiting her home, offering food and conversation. Her family smiles as they talk about how she would ask, "How are you doing?" Pearlia was always concern with how everyone else was feeling even while she was ill and not at her best.
