Patricia Folds

June 18, 1963 — February 23, 2024

Patricia Ann Folds, affectionately known as "Tricia" to her siblings or "My Ma" to her children and grandchildren, was born in Cleveland, Ohio on June 18, 1963, to Ethel and Henry Polk. Patricia was the fifth child out of seven children born to Ethel.

In her youth, Tricia was known for her infectious sense of humor and her unwavering selflessness. She was always nurturing and concerned for the well-being of others. At a young age Tricia became the keeper of the flock.

Patricia was educated in the Cleveland Public School System. She was very athletic, specifically known for being an excellent swimmer and a phenomenal track star.

In 1980, Tricia began to start a family. To complete the foundation of her family, she married Ronald D. Folds in 1981. From their union, they produced five children- 3 girls & two boys. Throughout the years, Tricia took pride in raising her children. She created a loving and close-knit family that shared many cherished memories of love and laughter.

Tricia served her community as an exceptional cook and was recognized for her humility and contagious smile anytime she crossed paths with someone. Loved by everyone she worked with, "Mrs. Pat" was who everyone knew they could go to for advice as well as a listening ear. She was known to carry everybody's burdens. She had a big heart and an even bigger smile. She was beautiful inside and out. She was such a generous soul, truly an angel on earth. Tricia was the epitome of one who loved without conditions.

Throughout her life, her love for cooking, shopping for candles, playing Super Mario & Ms. Pac-Man, listening to music (she loved herself some Whitney Houston), dancing, watching her "stories", her favorite movie (The Preacher's Wife), and spending precious time with her grandchildren showed just how full of life and love Tricia was. Tricia's family was her source of strength and joy, from her parents to her siblings, all the way down to her children and especially her grandchildren- near & far. Tricia served as a caregiver for her mother as she dedicated her life to ensuring that she received the best care possible. She wouldn't have had it any other way.

Tricia loved everyone attached to her unconditionally. In turn, she is and will always be loved & missed dearly by so many.

On February 23, 2024, at the age of sixty, Tricia answered God's call to come home. God knew that his child could not bear the burden of this world any longer. He delivered her from all the worrying and the troubles here on earth. As his Word states in 2 Corinthians 5:8- "To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord." Tricia fought the good fight; she won the race. There are no more tears of sorrow upon her face. She leaves behind a beautiful legacy that will one day meet her again.

Tricia's memory is lovingly honored by her five children, Tamara (Jessie) Prather, Ronald (Natasha) Folds Jr, Patrick Folds (Tanae), Patricia Folds (Fredrick), and Natasha Folds (Brock). She leaves cherished memories with her dear companion, Shawn Jackson, whom was supportive of her as a daughter, mother, grandmother, and loving partner.
