Nathaniel or "Bootsie" as he was affectionately called by his family and close friends, the name stayed with him his entire life. He was our "Bootsie". Nathaniel was the only son for several years until his brother Roy came along and helped him out in a household of five sisters. Bootsie was a pillar of strength and comforter to his sisters and brother. HE was the one every family member desired to spend time with to absorb his wealth of knowledge and sound advice. Nathaniel was educated in the Parochial School System, first attending St. Thomas Aquinas, St. Aloysius and Benedictine High School. Displaying spirituality at an early age he served as an altar boy at St. Aloysius. After graduating from Glenville High School Nathaniel enlisted in the United States Army where he was stationed in Germany, there he was able to travel all over Europe. After returning home from the Service Nathaniel began working as a bus driver at the Regional Transit Authority (RTA) until illness forced him to retire early. Nathaniel was blessed with four worthy sons and 1 daughter from unions with Guerlaine Mann and Linda Russell. Nathaniel proved to be a devoted father who worshiped his children. Anyone who knew Bootsie knew all about his boys. He taught them to enjoy all types of sports, all the things he loved. Not a weekend went by where he and his sons were not in front of the television watching some kind of sport. Bootsie also taught his sons to survive and be prepared for the future, He taught them to be men. Nathaniel was a charming loveable man who did not meet any strangers, he celebrated life, never complained, if he was in pain no one knew it. Bootsie loved his family unconditionally. If you were lucky enough to be his friend, you had a friend for life. He loved hard and stood by his convictions.
