Mildred D. Evans

Mildred Delois Evans was born March 13, 1943, to the late Julius, and Florence Moss. Mildred attended Sumter County Training School.

Mildred accepted Christ at an Early age. She relocated to Cleveland, Ohio, where she became employed at Dearing's Club and restaurant she helped to make it into a lucrative business in the heart of the city, on the corner of 110th street for over 30 years. She then became the manager at Ray's Place for multiple years. Later, she was employed at John Marshall High School as a security guard. Mildred was blessed with her own business, Evans Day Care Center, for multiple years until she retired.

Mildred met and married Charles Gilmore Jr who preceded her in death and Two children were born to his union. Mildred later married Ernest William Evans, who preceded her in death.

She met her best friend Betty Clark upon moving to Cleveland and they remained friends for over 50 years until Betty preceded her in death.

Mildred was a hard worker, strong woman, who love to cook and entertain. She also loved to dress wearing her hats, and heels. She moved back to her hometown of York, Alabama after her husband's passing for 15 years. She was a faithful member of Fourth Creek Missionary Baptist Church under Pastor Mitchel Carter. One of her favorite things to do in church was usher. Mildred had many spiritual children.

Mildred belonged to. The Order of Eastern Star. Lucille Pride, Chapter 727. Coaptopia,, Alabama. As her health started to fail her daughters brought her back to Cleveland. Mildred lived a full life, and she did what she wanted, when she wanted, how she wanted.

Mildred leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Chariss Gilmore Quinn (Dwight), and Charell Gilmore; three sisters, Edna Moss Williams (York, Alabama), Corine Oakley (Cleveland, Ohio), and Dora Campbell (Ellis) (Livingston Alabama); one brother, Samuel Moss (Denise) Cleveland, Ohio; two brothers, preceded her in death, Johnnie Moss (Bean) and Andrew Moss (Papa); one sister, Ruby Moss; seven grandchildren, John Anthony Julius Gilmore, Stephen Gilmore, Sasha Jones, Tyrell Jones, Stephanie Alene Gilmore, Sa'tonya Gilmore, and Diamond Gilmore; 12 great-grandchildren, nieces, great nieces, nephews, great nephews, great-great nieces and nephews, son, Duane Gilmore, son Jimmy Wayne Patrick; daughter, Saralene Oakley "Babygirl", and a dear friend, Raymond Long.
