Michael Christopher Young passed away peacefully on June 11, 2024, surrounded by those who love him intensely from the heart. He was born on April 15, 1972 to George & Kathryn Young, in Cleveland, Ohio.
Michael worked at Lube Stop for several years as Manager in South Euclid, he loved that job! He was also a licensed barber. The person he loved was “Unc”, he would call Michael to come and cut his hair and Michael dropped everything to be there for him whenever he called. “Unc” preceded Michael in death which broke his heart. These are just a few things that many did not know about Michael, the Man, the Father, the Son, the Loyal Friend. If Mike loved you, you knew it! Michael loved his children more than life especially his little ones, i.e., Milo 2years old and his daughter Bryanna that he bragged about. Michael loved going to see his kids practice and attend football games with Xavier and JaMarion and thinking he was a football coach to the boys on the field. He truly enjoyed being around his brothers, sisters and cousins, they were crazy together! His favorite food was a good pot of beans, rice and cornbread.
Michael was well known (some would say iconic) figure in the inner city Cleveland. Embedded in every story are reflections of his spirit namely: Courage, Strength, Loyalty, Honor, Focus, Perseverance, Sacrifice - Attributes of a true Warrior, THAT IS MICHAEL!
This is the legacy of our Son to - George & Kathryn Young, Brother to - George Young, Jr, Marla Robertson (Anthony) Mark Young(Karen) Michelle Williams (Sylvester) Geraldine Young, Jaison Young (Raneeka); Nephew to Walter & Elizabeth Worley and Calvin & Irlene Lewis; Father to - Michael Young, Jr, Xavier Young, Bryanna, JaMarion, and Mr. Boss Milo. Cousin to a very large and loving army of cousins; Very Close Friend to - Danielle, Anthony, Shawn, Dennis, Tammy and KayKay, Christie and an untold number of friends who love him dearly!
The Young family would like to thank you for your genuine, 24-hour, loving support and heartfelt prayers. In the words of of a famous boxer Ali (because Michael enjoyed the sport of boxing: "If my mind can conceive it, it my heart can believe it -- then I can achieve it" No matter the time of day, or day of the week, Michael kept it moving, so we tell you to be courageous and very strong, keep it moving!
