Michael S. Williams

Michael Samuel Williams was born in Dayton, Ohio on May 26, 1979 to Samuel and Beverly Williams. He was their only son of two children, just fifteen months younger than his sister and protector, Deandra. Michael was baptized at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church (Dayton, Ohio). He was a graduate of Chaminade Julienne High School (Dayton, Ohio) were he played varsity soccer and basketball and went on to earn his bachelor's degree in finance from Morehouse College (Class 2001). He was a proud member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. (Stone Mountain-Lithonia Chapter Spring 2004).

Michael was fortunate to meet his wife Simone in college while she attended Spelman College. Michael and Simone were married August 25, 2002. Their marriage included moves to New York, Atlanta and Cincinnati before settling in Mayfield Heights, Ohio in 2018. Simone would prove a true partner throughout his life, standing by his side through it all. Together they raised their daughter Lauren and enjoyed a life full of love; shared appreciation for seafood, long walks with their dog Asher and a close-knit bond with family. Michael could often be heard loudly cheering or coaching Lauren from the sidelines of her soccer games and beamed with pride any time he talked about the intelligent and beautiful young woman she'd become. He was always eager and happy to come home to "his girls". From grade school through adulthood, Michael was blessed to make lifelong friends who have become family, and for better or worse remained a faithful fan of the Cincinnati Bengals and The Ohio State University football team. Michael took his last breath on May 25, 2023 with his family beside him and his dad awaiting him in heaven.

Michael was preceded in death by his father, Samuel Williams; paternal grandfather, John White; maternal grandparents, Lawrence and Alice Glass and his aunts, Marian Glass and Cassandra Rogers. He leaves behind to cherish his life: his loving mother, Beverly Williams; his wife Simone Williams; his daughter Lauren Williams; sister Deandra Williams-Lewis; maternal grandmother, Lillian White; aunt Deena (Theadeus) Jones; uncle Lawrence (Beverly) Glass; great aunt Lucretia Glass, parents-in-law, Rev. Larry and Elaine Blevins; his cousins whom he considered more like siblings, Aaron (Sheronda) Jones, Ashley Glass, Chanee (Eduardo) Uribe, Rahman (Britt) Howard, Daron Howard; Andre Glass; cousin/aunt Jackie (Harvey) Boddie; nephews Logan Williams-Moore, Langston Lewis, Braylin Glass, Theadeus Jones Jr., Devin Jones, and many more nieces and nephews. There are a host of family and friends who will sorely miss his laughter, light and friendship.
