Mercedez Alyssa Leshay Quarles-Stubbs

Mercedez Alyssa Le-Shay Stubbs was born July 22, 1993, to Donte Stubbs and Kathy Kimbrough. Mercedez accepted Christ at a very young age at Cleveland Church of Christ. Mercedez was educated in the Cleveland Public School system, attending John Hay High School, School of Science and Medicine. She went on to Thiel College to get her Bachelor of Arts, double majoring in Sociology and Communication. While in college, Mercedez played tennis and became a significant member of her community. She was the President of Organization of Black Collegiates, President of Thiel College Soldiers, Conversation Leader to help International Students on Thiel Campus, Peer Leader, NoteTaker and Leader of the Strategic Planning Committee assisting with Thiel's board of trustees and Thiel's president plan for the upcoming students. Prior to her illness, Mercedez was employed at Applewood Center as a Treatment Specialist. Mercedez also known as "Cedez", is remembered by her strength and her smile that illuminated the room when she walks in. After receiving a diagnosis of Lupus, she entered peacefully into eternal life on Thursday, June 6, 2019, at 8:05 a.m. Mercedez leaves to mourn and cherish her fond memories; by her mother, Kathy Kimbrough; her father, Donte Stubbs, both of Cleveland, Ohio; granddaughter of Sharyn Stubbs, John Johnson (Darlene), and Joyce Kimbrough (deceased) (Phil); two loving sisters, Jnya and Jayla; three brothers, Devin, Donte and Montrae; her aunts, Dawn Stubbs and Ebony Kimbrough; her uncles, Deante Kimbrough and Kieshawn Kimbrough (deceased); and a host of family and friends.
