Mazola Ann Mcdonald

August 27, 1929 — May 26, 2022

Mazola was born on August 27, 1929, to Albert and Christoria Davis in Cleveland Ohio. She was the oldest of her four siblings, Mable, Russell, Ruth and Donald.

As a youth, she attended school in Cleveland and went on to graduate from high school. Out of all the subjects studied, she had a fondness and excelled in algebra.

After high school Mazola worked a few jobs and then met her future husband, Edward. They were married on December 3, 1955. From that union they had four children, Edward Jr., Yvonne, Andre and Rodney.

A few years later, one of Jehovah's Witnesses made a call at her home and she agreed to study the Bible. She recognized this as the truth concerning Jehovah God's purpose for mankind and therefore, made a dedication to serve him and symbolized it by water baptism in 1963. As she continued to make progress in the door-to-door-ministry, she did not stop there! She wanted to share this good news and wonderful hope of everlasting life on a paradise earth with her family and used every opportunity to do so. Though she was ridiculed and went home in tears with her children, she did not give up. She continued to sprinkle Bible truths whenever a topic for discussion arose. One by one they began to incline their ears to listen and as a result, her mother, sisters, brother-in-law, nephew and nieces also dedicated their lives to Jehovah and were baptized. They, too, shared in this global work of telling others about the wonderful hope of a better future under God's Kingdom!

Mom was associated with the North Congregation, now Eddy Road, from the beginning of her service to Jehovah. She was always in attendance at the meetings no matter what the weather, children and all. When the yearly convention rolled around, it was so very important to her to attend with all her children, even when it was held out-of-town. She always received support from her husband, Edward, and now he too is one of Jehovah's Witnesses...all because of her fine example according to 1 Peter 3:1.

In the congregation she was known to be reliable and always supportive to the pioneers by being their partners in the ministry.

On May 26, 2022, Mom closed her eyes for the last time after her second hospitalization due to pain and complications, as her health was declining.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Edward Sr., four children, Edward Jr. (Seri), of New York, Yvonne Bacon (Derrick), Andre of Richmond Heights and Rodney; five grandchildren, Darletta, De'Leon, Deonte', Zakiya and Velvet; eleven great-grandchildren and two great, great grandchildren; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, as well as special loving friends from the Eddy Road Congregation.
