Maxine Crenshaw Sandlin was born October 28, 1926 in Elmore County Alabama. Maxine was one of eight children born to the late Mr. Willie Luther Crenshaw and Mrs. Katie Crenshaw. Maxine accepted Christ at an early age and joined the Mt Zion Chapel AME Church in Wetumpka, Alabama. Maxine was educated in the Wetumpka Alabama School System. She was joined in Holy Matrimony to the late Mr. Andrew L. Sandlin in 1946. Of this union Patricia, Andrew Jr. and Alvin were born. The family moved to Cleveland Ohio in 1956 where they united with Crawford Road Christian Church under pastoral leadership of the late Rev Fulton Barnette Sr and later presided by Rev Robert L Hubbard Sr. Maxine was a nurturer not only to her children and children' friends but she loved to garden and take care of plants. She collected all types of porcelain figurines that she proudly kept on display. She was preceded in death by one sister, four brothers and her daughter Patricia. Maxine leaves cherished memories with her sisters, Katie Nell Roberts (Wetumpka AL) and Jessie P. Jones (Cleveland OH); sons, Andrew Jr. (Marilyn) and Alvin; grandchildren Tora (Deon), James, Lashawn, Walter, Faith and Myla; great grandchildren Cierra, Quashon, Dion, Raymond Jr. and Daron; one great great grandson, Chico. Special nephews Demetrius & Carlos; her close friends, Mrs Maude Welch, Ms Frankie Bailey and Mrs Anne Gaston. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. She lived to enjoy five generations of her family and we were blessed to have had her. Lovingly Submitted, The Family
