Mary Davis was one of four children (all deceased) born to the union of Doc and Emma Andrews, October 14, 1916 in Miami, Florida. She was the mother of 5 children, 3 preceded her in death. Mary was also the stepmother of 3 children who preceded her in death. Mary confessed Christ at an early age and united with the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Brunbridge, Alabama and later united with the country Line Baptist Church. While in Alabama she was affiliated with the civil rights movement and sang in the choir. She was also an Eastern Star. Mary met and fell in love with a fine Christian man from Alabama, Frank Collier. To this union 4 children were born, Claudine, Louise, Frank Jr. and Willie James. Frank and 3 of her children preceded her in death including daughter Gladys Wallace. In later life she married Johnnie Davis. Mary loved the Lord and was not ashamed to tell others about Christ. She always encouraged her family to put their trust in God. After moving to Cleveland, Ohio in the early sixties she united with the Providence Baptist Church under the Pastorate of Reverend Dobbins. Mary served willingly and faithfully in the Usher Board. She loved her church and served faithfully until her health failed. Mary became a resident of Fairfax Place where she receive excellent care and enjoyed many friendships. She leaves to cherish her memory 2 daughters, Claudine Roseman (Lee) and Louise Allen (Eugene); 16 grandchildren; 42 great grandchildren; 32 great-great grandchildren; and 1 great-great-great grandchild; as well as nieces, nephews other relatives and many friends.
