Mary Mclendon Culpepper

November 14, 1925 — June 6, 2012

Mary Alma (McLendon) Culpepper fondly called "Mother Mary", was a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend entered into Rest on Wednesday June 6, 2012. Mary was born in Gypsum, Ohio on November 14, 1925 to Monroe and Clara King-McLendon. She was the fourth child born to this union. Her siblings Jamery, James, and Ernestine preceded her in death. She accepted Christ at an early age and grew up in the Holiness Church. She was an outstanding student at Ottawa County Schools. The family moved to Cleveland, Ohio in 1942. She was retired from Mt. Sinai Hospital after 32 years of service as a Nursing Assistant in various departments. She continued to work within the medical profession as a Patient Care Assistant doing private duty nursing. During this time she married the late Carl Culpepper, who preceded in death. Mary enjoyed current events and having a good discussion about them. She further enjoyed competing with her daughter Renee to be the first to complete a book series. Mary was an active member if several senior citizen groups; The Oasis, St, James, Cleveland Heights Community Center where she was famously known for her Harvard Beets dish at their monthly potluck luncheons. She further enjoyed line-dancing, playing cards, King in the Corner, and she was an avid reader. She resided until her passing at St. Augustine Manor where she enjoyed the monthly sing-alongs, talent shows, activities, and events. She leaves to cherish her memories her children; Clairetta Cason, Allen McLendon Sr., Renee Mancino (Bob), Darryl McLendon, Miles McLendon (deceased), Mona Adams, and Ivan Ewing. She was the Grandmother of Leslie Peace (Tony), Dwayne and Anthony Davis , Allen McLendon Jr., Tanyika Allen, Larry Jr., Michael (deceased), Lisa Adams & Darryl McLenden Jr.. She was the Great Grandmother of twenty one children & a Great-Great Grandmother of two. She was a fond Aunt & treasured Friend to many. Interment in Evergreen Memorial Park.
