Marvin Miller was born on March 9, 1958, in Dumas, Arkansas, to his loving parents, Oliver and Ever Lee Miller (both parents preceded him in death). Marvin relocated to Cleveland, Ohio, at the age of nine with his parents and younger sister, Belinda. Marvin attended Cleveland Public Schools and obtained his GED later in life. Marvin accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Triedstone Missionary Baptist Church in Cleveland, Ohio. Marvin and Pamela Bradley had one son, Moses Miller. His family was blessed with the love and joy of having not only Moses, but his siblings and cousins (Lynette Bradley, Latoya Bradley, Dorothy Bradley, and Ronishia Bradley) added to the family.
Marvin was aware of and sensitive to the injustices and prejudices he witnessed in his world. Marvin converted to become a member of the Muslim faith. He worshipped at the Masjid Noor Mosque.
Marvin made his family proud and blessed them tremendously when he made a major shift in his life by deciding to become drug-free. He took his sobriety very seriously and became an active participant in his Narcotics Anonymous (NA) Home Group. He served on the NA Public Relations Committee, helping to get the word out to those struggling with drug addiction that help is available to them through NA. He served faithfully for many years until his health would no longer permit him to do so.
Marvin worked doing home renovations for many years. He loved sports and rarely missed a football or basketball game. He enjoyed writing short stories, poems, and songs. He also enjoyed listening and dancing to music that shared a meaningful message. He valued spending time with family and friends and was very protective of those he cared about. When he told you he loved you, you were loved!
Marvin departed this life on August 28, 2024. He was preceded in death by his parents, Oliver and Ever Lee Miller; his sister, Frances Hudson; his brother, Odell Rayford.
He leaves to mourn his passing, his beloved son, Moses Miller; sister, Belinda Miller-Miles (husband, Wayne Miles); sister Lizette Bluett (husband, James Bluett); valued friend, Pamela Bradley; and a host of loved ones-nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.
