Marva Jean Allen-Black was born January 24, 1946 to the late Sally Ruth Earley and William Allen, Sr. in Cleveland, Ohio. Both parents, one brother, Billy, and one sister, Connie, preceded her in death. Marva "Chee Chee", under the guidance of her grandmother and guardian, the late Pearl O. Allen-Bowman "Granny". She attended the Cleveland Public School System and graduated from John Hay High School. She accepted Christ at the age of 11 and was baptized at Greater Friendship Baptist Church. Marva began her work career at the IRS, then I. J. Fox, and soon thereafter the rest of her career was with Ohio Bell, renamed AT&T where she retired. Marva, along with her sister Janice "Genaveve", Jeannie, and Ann had a singing group called the DEL-MAR-QUETS in the early 1960's, and dancing. Marva's biggest joy was having her grandkids over for the night or weekend to be with her watching cartoons, other movies and eating snacks. She also had loving names SHE called each one of them: Kelley "Mom", Calina "Schmoogums", Kaycee "Precious", Andre "Little Guy", Jalen "Dooter", Jason "Lovey", Kaira "Shooga Gurl", and Leyah "Shooga Pooster" & "Ms. Griswold". Marva forgot her battle and was victorious. She laid down her armor quietly and slipped into eternal rest at 4:05 p.m., Saturday, February 2, 2019 at Cleveland Clinic Foundation. Marva leaves to mourn one sister, Janice (Michael); two daughters, Kelley and Kaycee, three sons, Andre, Jalen, Jason. My love for You will never die, For You live inside my heart. I hold on to a little piece of You, so we are never really apart. (Marva loved this quote) John F. Conner
