Mamie Bailey

Mrs. Mamie Bailey entered eternal rest and peace, August 12, 2023. She was born October 17, 1923, to the late Ellis and Theodocia Gingles in Newport News, Virginia. At an early age, she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. She had four siblings; Paul, Ransom, Constance, and Jessie (all are deceased). Upon moving to Cleveland, Ohio, she joined Beth-El A.M.E. Zion Church.

Mamie was educated in the Newport News School System. She later married William Bailey. They were married for 65 years and from this union came two daughters, Vanessa Howard, and Bridgette Bailey(deceased). Mamie was a petite, loving faithful church member. She loved to give back to the community and serve the Lord. She took the time to teach her family and close friends to have faith in God.

Mamie was a member of Beth-El A.M.E. Zion Church in Cleveland Ohio. She was dedicated to her church for over 50 years.

She leaves to cherish her memories one daughter, Vanessa Howard(Jesse); granddaughters, Tanesha Speed, Ga-Vita Haynes(Vincent), Dionne Williams(Carl), Dawn Jones; great-grandchildren, Diamond, Jamarius, Elijah, Chakari, Cynara, Saadya, Maya, MaKenna, Misha; nieces, Jean Roy of Hampton, Virginia and Vivian Dubra(William) of San Diego, California; great great-grandchildren and a host of great nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
