Epsie Lula Mae Grace Thomas was born January 14, 1916 in Georgia, Alabama to the late Gooley and Lila Thomas. She was one of nine siblings, Albert Porter, Greeley Grace, Janie Blue, Eunice Todd, Zeola Hamilton, Bethesther May, Ruth Wiley, Minnie Lee all who preceded her in death. Lula Mae accepted God as her Lord and savior at an early age. Lula Mae Thomas was a member of St. Timothy Missionary Baptist Church and served on the usher board until she relocated in 1996 to Benton, MS. Lula Mae affectionately known as "granny" was intensely devoted to God, family and friends. Lula Mae worked as a window dresser and homemaker. Granny loved gardening, cooking, and sewing. Her yearly flowerbeds were impeccable and enjoyed by all, her pound cake and fried chicken can never be duplicated and let's not forget the many breakfasts that we all shared with her and papa on numerous occasions. "Breakfast is the most important meal of the day" is what she said on a daily basis. Granny a beautiful flower was chosen by God on August 13, 2011 to join him for eternal life in heaven. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Neal Thomas and her daughter Gussie Jewel Fouché. She leaves to cherish her memories daughters E. Kaye Fouché , Ruth Mosby, Beverly (Lucius) Williams, Jo Evelyn Thompson, and son-in-law, Porter L. Fouché; eleven grandchildren, Portia (Kevin) Martin, Joseph (Sharon) Mosby, Carole (Kelvin) Payton, Michelle (Jamie) Court, Anthony (Belinda) Richardson, Michael Mosby, Beverly (Dan) Biech, Joe Fouché, George (Sondra) Richardson, Lisa Fouché, Maria Williams ; 34 great grandchildren; 23 great-great grandchildren; a very special niece Clarene Heffner and a host of Nieces, Nephews, cousin, other relatives and friends.HOME GOING SERVICES BEGIN AT 10:00 AM ON FRIDAY AUG. 19TH at St Timothy Missionary Baptist Church, 7101 Carnegie Avenue. Interment in Lake View Cemetery.
