Lucille Jennings

October 15, 1955 — December 9, 2019

Lucille "Lucy" Jennings (nee, Primous) was born October 15, 1955, in Cleveland, Ohio to Rosie M. Primous and the late Nathaniel Primous Sr. Lucy was the fifth of "The Lucky Seven." Lucille was educated in the Cleveland Public School System, where she attended and graduated with honors from John Adams High School in 1973. There she met her life partner and friend, Larry Jennings. Lucille was always adventurous, looking for something new to occupy her time. Shortly after graduating high school, Lucy landed a job with the government working in the Navy Finance Department which was later known as DFAS. While working with the Navy Finance Department, she was offered the opportunity to travel to Oklahoma to study to become an Air Traffic Controller. Upon her return to Cleveland, Lucy continued her adventure with DFAS, one that would last 33 years. Lucille LOVED and knew the LORD! She accepted Christ at an early age, being baptized at and remaining a faithful member of Community A.M.E Church until her departure. Lucille served in several auxiliaries and boards including the Junior Ushers, Lay Organization and Trustee Board. Although she was very active and wore several hats in the church, her favorite by far was singing with the Junior Choir and later with the Young Adult Choirs. Her favorite song being, "He's the Joy of My Salvation!" Lucille loved to dance and bowl. Sunday afternoons after church, became a family affair as Lucy headed to the local bowling alley to bowl in her league joined by her family and friends. There wasn't anyone who didn't call Lucy friend by the time she finished talking to them. She was known to be a night owl and never turned anyone away who was looking for a listening ear, spirited conversation, friendly advice (if you wanted it or not), a good laugh or a walk down memory lane listening to and belting out some old school R & B. Lucy did not have children of her own, but was always there to help take care of and support all of her nieces and nephews, Godchildren and friends kids often braiding hair, attending births, birthday parties, and countless school and church plays. Lucille leaves to cherish her loving memory her partner Larry Jennings, Mother Rosie M. Primous, Sisters: Rosa A. Primous, Mary Primous, and Denise Primous and Brother Sylvester Primous Sr. She had one sister Gloria D. Blunt and brother Nathaniel Primous Jr. who preceded her in death. Two God Children Keith Beavers and Tynise Cephus whom she loved with all of her heart as well as a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
