Lottie D. Mitchell was born October 17, 1921, to the late John Westley Morgan and Ophelia Duncan Morgan in Newton, Mississippi. Lottie attended Newton County School System. She was employed doing domestic work until she retired and volunteered with different organizations. Lottie confessed Christ at an early age in Mississippi. Upon coming to Cleveland, she attended Antioch Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. William Henry Hobbs until his passing in 1974, as well as several other ministers of Antioch including, Rev. Thomas Matthews, Rev. Milton Matthews and Elder Thomas Jackson of Antioch Prayer and Praise Church. Lottie was preceded in death by her husband Elijah Mitchell; Four children, Willie Doloris Smith, George Boulton, Ophelia Scott, and Amanda Boulton; Nine brothers & sisters, Frank Morgan, Andrew Morgan, Slim Morgan, Amanda Morgan, Woodard Morgan, D.L. Morgan, Dessare Morgan, Willa Mae & Sandy Morgan. Cherishing her precious memories are One daughter, Melvenia Boone of Cleveland, Ohio; 25 grandchildren; 61 great-grandchildren; 58 great-great-grandchildren and One great-great-great-grandchild; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
