Levi Lott

February 10, 1920 — June 15, 2015

Deacon Levi Lott, was born February 10, 1920 in Sun Flower, Mississippi to Levi and Barbara Lott (Kirksey), both preceded him in death. He was the 2nd of ten children to this union; there were three additional siblings from a previous union. On November 15, 1941 Levi married Irene Nettles. Levi and Irene migrated to Cleveland, Ohio in 1943 through this union no biological children was born. During a revival conducted by Mother Brady at Jonas Temple COGIC in 1957, Levi accepted Jesus Christ as His personal savior. Later, the Lord blessed Brother and Sister Lott with three Son Jeffrey, Stephen and Kevin Lott. Levi was employed at Fisher Food Company until he retired in 1988. Deacon Levi Lott, was ordained a Deacon by the late Bishop Make E. Jonas. He served the Lord faithfully as Vice Chairman of the Deacon Board, under the late Deacon Arthur Hudson. He is most conscientious in executing the responsibility of a Deacon. Deacon Lott served the late Bishop Mack E. Jonas as his personal chauffeur, baptismal partner, communion server, and many other duties until Bishop Jonas demise. Deacon Lott was appointed chairman of the Deacon Board in 1974 by the late Bishop Robert L. Chapman. Deacon Lott has been a great example for other deacons and fulfilled the biblical requirements of a deacon. Bishop Robert L. Chapman Designated September 9, 1994 as "Deacon Levi Lott Day." Deacon Lott continued to serve and worship faithfully under our current pastor, Bishop Clifford L. Kimbrough Jr. until his health declined. Deacon Lott loved to speak from the text: "Money, which is found in your pocket." Deacon Lott was a warm, loving, responsible, dependable, Saved, Sanctified, and filled with the Holy Ghost, servant of the Lord. Well Done thou GOOD and FAITHFUL Servant. Levi departed this life on Monday June 15, 2015. Here to celebrate his life and to carry on his legacy are his devoted and loving wife of 73 years and 7 months, Irene Lott, his son Jan (Jeff) (Shawn) Jones, Stephen (Tracie) Lott, and Kevin Lott all of Cleveland, Ohio. 1 daughter Kathryn (Riley) Rice who preceded him in death. Seven grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren. Three sisters, Elizabeth Neal, Zerleen Husband and Kathryn Webster. Seven brothers, Theodore, Amos, Walter, Warren, Freddy, Odell, and Leonard, two sisters Leona Cambell and May Ella Wilson preceded him in death. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, family, friends, and the Jonas Temple family.
