Celebration Of Life
Lawrence Edward Spearman, well known as Larry, passed away at the age of 74. Born to James E. Spearman, Sr. and Helen M. Spearman (both deceased) on August 21, 1949, in Martins Ferry, Ohio. He was the oldest of four children.
Larry spent his early years in Martins Ferry. The family moved to Cleveland when he was ten years old, and he attended school on Cleveland's east side. He served in the Navy in the early seventies which led to his adventurous spirit. He married Lois Mitchell in June, 1972 and they moved to Los Angeles, CA in 1974. To this Spearman union, one son was born (Anthony). As a proud father and grandfather, his legacy lives on through his son and his granddaughter, Skylin.
In Larry's continuous quest to seek new adventures and opportunities, he joined a Corvette Club while living in Los Angeles, and proudly drove and displayed his 'toy', an orange Corvette, throughout the city. In addition to Los Angeles, Larry also lived in Seattle, WA., and Atlanta, GA. His work career included working as a plumber in the Construction trade industry, and as an OSHA certified Distribution Warehouse Assistant at Kaiser Hospital in Los Angeles. He also served as a Security Officer at Walden Security in Marietta, GA, among other positions such as Warehouse Assistant and a Gas Fuel Technician in the Atlanta area.
We bid farewell to Larry; however, he does leave behind many fond memories. He leaves to cherish his life and contributions his son Anthony and granddaughter Skylin; brother James Spearman, Jr. (Diane), sisters Brenda Lee Cheston (John) and Bonnie Lou Finley; nieces Charmaine Brown (Furney) and Lynne Glenn (Brenton); great nieces Makayla Brown and Brelynne Glenn. Also, a host of cousins, other relatives, and friends.
Larry will be missed by all who knew him. His quiet mannerisms, his gleaming eyes, and that kind smile will be fondly remembered.
'With this faith...free at last, free at last, thank God almighty (I am) free at last'.
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
