Larry STEPHENS, 60; Passed away Fri. Aug. 1st; Memorial Services SAT. AUG., 9th 3pm. at Watsons Funeral Home 10913 Superior Ave. Cleve 44106 Larry (b.k.a. "Tweety") Stephens, age 60, transitioned from this life on August 01, 2014 at the Metro health Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio. He was born in Shivy County, in Memphis Tennessee to the late Joseph Stephens, and Helen Williams. Tweety confessed Christ late in his adult life, but he always demonstrated genuine love for others by giving, and serving others, which is one of the attributes of being a Christian. Tweety attended Thomas Edison Trade School, in Cleveland, Ohio, in which I believe, where he acquired the passion for fixing things. Tweety was a very hard worker, who always kept busy, by repairing things around the house, and helping others. He was a "Jack-of-All-Trades"; construction worker, mechanic, machine operator, painter, landscaper, "grill master", janitor, and house cleaner. Tweety loved music, especially the blues. But, his favorite past time was watching football, basketball, and the news on television. Tweety was a wonderful, loving, caring, and very thoughtful husband, he was my best friend. In addition to his father, preceded in death are his maternal grandparents. Tweety leaves to mourn, Phyllis Stephens, his devoted and loving wife of 21 years, his mother and stepfather (Kenneth Gotts), his stepchildren; Bonita Allison, Felicity (June) Macon, Romale (Olympia Anderson) Grice, Channille Grice, Brother, Lewis (Anna Mae) Stephens, sisters, Arlena Stephens, Johnnie Rose (Willie) Jefferson, Linda Reeves, Brother-in-law, Larry Perry, sister-in-laws; Peggy Lee, Glennzer Perry, all of Cleveland, Ohio. Sister-in-law Patricia (Henry) Coats, Columbus, Ohio; and Deborah Brown, Cincinnati, Ohio; eight grandchildren, a special aunt, Ester Wells, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Tweety pleasing personality, his love for others, and his genuine smile, and his friendship will be truly missed.
