Kevin Brooks was born to Archie Belle Brooks (Watkins) and Leslie Brooks on May 17, 1961, in Cleveland, Ohio. He was the last born of six children. Kevin attended high school at John Hay Senior High School in 1979, where he played varsity basketball and participated in other extracurricular activities and graduated in June 1979. After graduation, he worked at odd jobs until his father famously quoted “boy you better bring me something”. Thereafter, he joined the United States Air Force where he served for 12 years, June 1980 to December 1992.
During his service, he met and married Pilar. From that union was born his son, Kevin Brooks Jr, on April 10, 1986. Years later, Kevin relocated to Atlanta, Georgia where he worked as a customer service representative for Sprint. It was in Georgia where Kevin accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. Kevin had a hunger and passion to learn more about God’s Word, so he enrolled and Graduated from Rhema Bible College in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and studied at DeVry Institute of Technology.
In 2016, Kevin moved back to his hometown on Cleveland and began work at Spectrum Charter Communications. Kevin had a knack for style, a love for life, and brought laughter to anyone who he encountered.
