JUNE ROSS JACKSON (nee BANKS), Age 88, was born in Millwood, Virginia to Mary Virginia Banks and George Manuel on August 5, 1928 the youngest to her sister Weaver McGuire. She graduated from Virginia State University on the Dean's list as an Athletic Major. She married the late Joel T. Jackson September 22, 1951 and this union was blessed with daughters, Ann, Sheryl, Linda and Anita. June was the first black woman to integrate Anchor Industries where she worked for 17 years. She loved the Lord and was dedicated to her daily word. She loved to read, dance, swim, cook and all sports, especially football. She cherished family and demonstrated the importance of closeness and support. She was present for every grandchild and great grandchild's birth. She was a great organizer and a true example of a "Proverbs 31" woman. June B. Jackson went on to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 27, to meet her loving husband Joel and sister Weaver. She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughters, Ann, Sheryl, Linda and Anita; grandchildren, Tiffany, Emmett, Hallie, Cory, Ricky, Chris, David, Dustin and Devi; 12 great grandchildren and a host of loving nieces, nephew and extended family. SERVICES ARE FRIDAY, OCTOBER 7th; WAKE 9:30 AM, FUNERAL 10:00 AM at Watson's Funeral Home, 10913 Superior Avenue, 44106. Military Honor Guard Tribute and Balloon Release Ceremony at the funeral home. Public viewing Thursday from 9 AM to 7 PM. After services, interment is in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio.
