JULIA M. DAVIS, 90; Passed Aug. 24, 2009; Wife of Willie D. Davis. SERVICES SATURDAY, AUG. 29TH; WAKE: 10:00 AM, funeral 10:30 am at LANE METROPOLITIAN C.M.E. CHURCH, 2131 EAST 46 STREET AT CEDAR AVE. Interment in Lake View Cemetery. God bless the woman who is not afraid to make her presence felt. A Strong Woman with a gentle hug....A Busy Woman with a friendly, helpful spirit.....A Serious Woman with a smile that brings sunshine to the rainiest day... Her culinary skills provides tasty delights enjoyed by family and friends. A loyal participant in preparing breakfasts, luncheons, dinners and bake sales, has led to special requests for homemade cakes and pies. Many helpful hints on food preparation have been given to many. Cooking was Julia's hobby and she was good at it. She worked with the late Mrs. Elizabeth Thompson, cooking up everything in Lane's kitchen. Julia joined Lane Metropolitan CME Church in 1957 under the pastorate of Rev. J.C. Coles. She was a member of the Breeding Friendly Club and a member of the W.E. Carter Missionary Circle. She and her husband, Willie Davis, renewed their marriage vows on their Silver Anniversary, with Pastor Anzo Montgomery officiating. The Breeding Friendly Club initiated the event and the congregation celebrated. Julia never had a public job. She was a housewife by trade. Her Love for children transcends her biological family. She has raised many besides her own. A ninety year journey: She was born June 13, 1919 to Jim and Ophelia Hardin in Trenton, Tennessee, growing up with two brothers and one sister, all who have preceded her in death. She married Albert Moore who is deceased. Of this union 2 daughters were born. She moved to Cleveland, OH, in 1947 and married Willie Davis on April 20, 1950. Julia Davis leaves to mourn her husband of 62 years, Willie D. Davis; two daughters, Virginia Pearson (Lloyd) and Juanita Hazelhurst (Harold) of Cleveland, OH; two cousins Viesta Avery of Cleveland, OH and Bernice Wade of Trenton, TN; three Sisters-in-Law, Bernell Hardin and Aileen Perdue of Cleveland, OH and Annie Connor of Gary, IN ; She was the grandmother of 7, great-grandmother of 9 and great-great grandmother of 2; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
