John L. Moore was born in Hampton, Arkansas on August 13, 1933, to parents David Moore and Georgia Grant. John was the second oldest of four children, three boys and one girl (deceased). John had one daughter, Maxine Tatum (deceased) before he came to Cleveland in 1955 and met Clarstine White. The two married in 1956, from their union came four children, Norma Jean (deceased), Sharon, Robin, and John Allen. John was employed at Gravel Manufacturing for several years, he left the factory and landed a job for the City of Cleveland Water Department, from where he retired. John enjoyed playing music in a band, he was the lead singer and could blow a harmonica. Later in life, he liked fishing and playing his guitar. John leaves to mourn, his children, Sharon, Robin, and John; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
