John W. Hopper will have a public viewing Monday, May 9th from 9am to 7pm at Watson's Funeral Home 10913 Superior Ave. Cleve 44106. His services will be Tuesday, May 10, 2016 starting at 12:30 pm at Watson's Funeral Home 10913 Superior Ave. Cleveland, Ohio 44106 John W. Hopper was born in Cleveland, Ohio on February 15, 1953 to John W. Davis and Olivia Hopper Davis. John was one of seven children all of Cleveland, Ohio, Yvonne Davis, Herbert Davis, Raymond McKenzie, Charlotte Davis, Donna (Greg) Black, Modeaner Davis and Raymond Cammon. John attended Cleveland Public Schools, he was always interested in learning so he had some college education, it was always important to be the best example he could to his children and family. John obtained sobriety from June 8, 1994 until the day God called him home, he was an example of how to live and die sober. he was always a member of N.A. and A.A. John early on went to Cleveland Church of Christ and later moved to Elyria, Ohio where he joined God's Kingdom in Lorain, Ohio. John was in a relationship wiht Tonya Wilson who was there from the begining to the end and he was very grateful for her. John was preceded in death by his three son's; Juwon M. Hopper, John W. Hopper III and Nicholas Cammon; and his father, John W. Davis. John leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Olivia Davis; twelve children, Antonio Cammon, Yolanda (Joe) Hale, LaJuan Hopper, Juwana Hopper, Latura Willford, Kenyetta Swanson, Charlsie Sumlin, Kimberly Sumlin and Eddricka (Montez) Pierce. John served his country in both the Army and Marines; he worked at City Hall, RTA, V.A. Hospital and Lorain County Urban League. John loved music, loved fishing, singing, dancing, dressing and driving Cadillacs. He loved to love and loved to be loved. God called him home on May 2, 2016, that was the day all of our hearts were broken. He also leaves 37 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews; a very special uncle who was near and dear to his heart, Lawrence Davis; also his best female friend, Elizabeth Smith who meant so much to him.
